2006 Smarter Than Smoking Creative Challenge - The Bike Lab

Organisation

Awesome Arts Australia Ltd

Project Description

AWESOME Arts Australia Ltd is seeking expressions of interest from innovative contemporary artists, with expertise in Community Cultural Development, to work on the 2006 Smarter than Smoking CREATIVE CHALLENGE. There will be 10 full time regional residencies of 1-week duration, between June and September 2006. Artists will be employed in pairs, for multiple residencies at a time, in a new road-show style concept, collaborating with young people and others in each community to facilitate the creation of an artwork and celebration that will then form part of the 2006 AWESOME Festival -Perth's International Contemporary Arts Festival for Young People – in November.

Applicants should be superior communicators, eminently flexible and hankering for new experiences. This will be a Visual Arts based project, but strong applicants from other artforms are encouraged to apply. Experience in video, photography or large sculptural work will be welcomed. Please send a concise CV, along with a short email explaining your interest or experience in working with community groups and young people. A current police clearance is a condition of employment. Email Simon Malcolm simon@awesomearts.com no later than Friday 7th April 2006.

Further information can be found at www.awesomearts.com or by telephoning 9485 0560.
